Infocom was a step in this direction. Its bid being
to showcase the country's capabilities in the ICT
segment.
Organized by India's leading business magazine -
Businessworld and India's most respected IT body-NASSCOM,
in Kolkata, it was the largest congregation of IT
specialists, key policymakers and industry leaders.
Its purpose being to integrate the disparte hardware,
software and telecom segments into a unified platform
that covers ICT at a broader level.
Infocom 2002 brought together the leaders in IT
and business along with government bodies and over
50 exhibitors. It was for the first time that the
East witnessed the revolution of IT, the very best
it has to offer and the vast range of opportunities
waiting to be discovered.
Infocom 2002 paved way for the success of Infocom
2003. With over 700 delegates, 80 exhibitors, over
35,00 visitors, 25 sponsors and 10 IT specialists
from abroad, Infocom 2003 was a showcase of IT India's
who's who and who's he. It potrayed insights on how
to harness the power of IT for business excellence.
