WHY EXHIBIT
ICT (Information and Communication Technology) Exhibitions in India - An emerging & effective marketing tool
CEIR (Center for Exhibition Industry Research) studies have shown that:
76% of exhibition attendees arrive with an agenda;
48% of exhibition leads don't require a sales call to close the deal;
Exhibition leads cost 56% less to close than field sales calls;
87% of exhibition attendees say they will share information obtained at exhibitions with their immediate superiors.
The ICT industry worldwide is characterized by knowledge-exchange, collaborations, partnerships, alliances, and networking. Hence, meetings between buyers and sellers, experts and students, software vendors and resellers are finding new meaning for the ICT industry. While a much more recent phenomenon as compared to trade shows and exhibitions for the traditional industries, exhibitions for ICT products and services in India are growing rapidly with three strong underpinnings.

Firstly, manufacturers, distributors, and vendors are fast-discovering that the Internet cannot actually replace traditional methods of selling or even marketing. While it remains an essential part of the mix, it is obvious it is just one of the many ingredients. In fact, this realization is creating a wonderful amalgam of ICT sellers and consumers at such exhibitions.

Secondly, unlike a bidding process, ICT expos offer myriad options for similar or comparable services where visitors can not only meet vendors, but also experience their offerings first hand.

And finally, while the exhibitions in west are at best maintaining participation, Asia – especially, India – is experiencing the early stages of exhibitions emerging as an effective marketing tool.

While Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore & Hyderabad can be classified as mature centers for ICT exhibitions, emerging destinations including Calcutta, Pune, Ahmedabad and Chennai are considered the biggest potential yet. The tier-II and tier-III cities of India are poised to emerge as preferred destinations due to availability of the requisite talent pool coupled with low cost real estate, power, and connectivity.
INFOCOM - The leader in the space
Over the years, Indian ICT industry has witnessed the birth and growth of many trade-shows. While many started by addressing a need-gap with substantial support from industry and trade bodies, very few came up as a result of an organization driving a larger agenda to bring ICT focus in a geography that was not yet discovered.

INFOCOM was started in 2002 with the agenda of bringing Eastern India on the global IT map. In 6 years, the exhibition grew from a humble effort to bring industry leaders to mould the minds of politicians, policy-makers, and public alike to becoming India's leading show for ICT. The event in it's sixth year was held at two locations selected for their growing importance in the ICT world, Hyderabad and Calcutta.

With a very large conference and the size of the exhibition growing to global proportions, INFOCOM is the largest annual congregation of ICT buyers, sellers, and visionaries in India.
Why exhibit at INFOCOM?
